Surprising Myself
As I continue to step out of my comfort zone, I put one creative foot in front of the other. I surprise myself time and time again. Sometimes, I read my writing and say, "Wow, I wrote that." I am amazed when someone tells me, "Your poetry is really good," and bewildered when another says, "You’ve got something," when they look at my artwork.
I am appreciative of the feedback and absorb it as I build my confidence and begin to believe in my abilities. I am proud to refer to myself as an artist, poet, and author.
I am excited to have the opportunity to show my artwork this summer at the Zollikofer Gallery at the Hotel Coolidge starting on June 1st. I plan to show approximately sixteen pieces, and I have chosen nine paintings to have photographed and prints made.
I never dreamed that any of this was possible, but I am grateful that it is. I will continue to "wing it," learning as I go. I am very curious about what is ahead.
